The London 2 Brighton Challenge
Richmond, West London,
Saturday morning 24 May 2014. Crowds of challengers and supporters enjoy the
tented village facilities – the music is loud, the warm ups are hot, and excitement
levels are high! Groups set off eagerly in batches of 100 on to the river path
- runners striding out early to benefit from a quiet course and hopefully a
fast time. There’s 100km of paths, trails, and roads to get to the Brighton Race
Course finish – 2/3 ‘rds off road – with some great food, rest stops and
support en route. You’ll encounter some fantastic scenery, make new friends, discover
resolve and spirit you didn’t know you had, and maybe even shed a tear at the
end of your epic journey. Thousands will take on the 2014 event; the majority, the
first timers, taking on the longest walk of their life at their own pace; hardened
walkers & joggers aiming to finish in under 24 hours; those stepping up
from their normal marathon aiming for a new goal, and seasoned ultra runners
seeking a personal best. London 2 Brighton is your Challenge - to take on in
your way – and support a charity of your choice.

AMAZING SENSE OF ACHIEVEMENT - A WEEKEND THAT YOU’LL NEVER FORGET!
Sounds relatively straight forward? But it’s a real test of mental and
physical endurance! But, with good preparation, a focussed training
plan and our on-event support, the challenge is an achievable goal - no
matter what your fitness and experience at the outset. Many will have a
target time of 24 hours for the 100km – with day and night time sections; but
you can go at your own pace.

- You can walk the entire distance - or jog some
parts if that’s your way!
- Walkers start in groups from 7.00am
until 11.00am on the Saturday.

the 2014 challenge!
The London 2 Brighton Challenge is fast becoming the UK’s biggest
Ultra-Marathon challenge – the support, signage and organisation we provide set
our event apart from other running events - It’s the ideal Ultra for marathon
runners to step up, train hard and conquer a new challenge – 100 or 56km!

Registration – How to sign up...
You can sign up online via this website – and pay
the Registration Fee. You choose your challenge distance and confirm that
you’re joining as a ‘Walker ‘or as a ‘Runner’. You select which charity you
wish to raise sponsorship for. You'll be asked whether you're an Individual or starting
/ joining a Team.
Not only will you take on a heroic feat of endurance,
your fundraising will make a huge difference to your chosen charity. Your
charity will provide fantastic support to help you reach your target, including
update calls, emails and fundraising toolkits with plenty of advice!

By signing up to the challenge you are committing to the
fundraising target – which is a ‘minimum’.
- 50% of the minimum fundraising target should
ideally be received by your nominated charity 6 weeks prior to
the challenge to confirm your place on the challenge via your

monies or balance must be received by your charity no later than 4 weeks
after the event.
Note: Your charity pays a fee of between £85-£99 for 100km Challengers
and £55-£75 for 56K Challengers (depending on their recruitment levels and
other commercial arrangements) to the event organiser (Action Challenge UK Ltd),
for services associated with marketing and organising the event.
